LTM4 Mountain Tour on Sunday, June 4th
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
For those who are planning to stay in St. Gallen for another day after the 4th Lymphoid Tissue Meeting, we offer a mountain tour to the picturesque village of Appenzell and to the famous mountain restaurant Aescher.
Appenzell is a lovely village and famous for good cheese (what else?). We suggest to take the train from St. Gallen to Appenzell and to enjoy the scenic views of the pre-alpine landscape.
We will arrive in Appenzell around 11 am and enjoy a short walk through the village before having lunch in the restaurant Gasthaus Hof.
We suggest to walk along the Sitter river from Appenzell via Weissbad to Wasserauen, which should take roughly 1.5 h. Alternatively, a train runs regularly from Appenzell to Wasserauen. The cable car in front of the Wasserauen train station will take us up to the Ebenalp.
To see the “Place of a Lifetime” restaurant on one of the cliffs of the Alpstein mountains, we will walk for 30 min from the cable car station via the Wildkirchli caves and the hermitage to the restaurant Aescher (video). Coffee and snacks will wait for us at around 3:30 pm. We will walk back at 5 pm to catch the last cable car and to return to St. Gallen.
We hope very much that you will join us for the trip. Please see the next page for more information and contact Mario Novkovic (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you want to join. The costs for the trip including food and drinks will be around 70 CHF (approx. 70 USD).
If the weather is suitable, we will also organize a 4 to 5 hour hiking trip in the area around Aescher for those who would be interested. To get motivated for the trip see the video.
Detailed time schedule for the mountain tour is available here.
